Used in the Remote Network Management use case for the joining mode configuration. The “joining mode” of a RemoteNWM server feature determines the behaviour of the feature with regards to devices that have not been added yet to the RemoteNWM server’s DestinationsList. For example:
1. The feature may set its native communications technology visibility (i.e. the visibility towards other devices of the native network) to “on” or “off”.
2. The feature may be configured to accept only a new device with a specific native address or native property.
3. The feature may be configured for an automatic (EEBus) acceptance of devices discovered by automatic (native) protocols.
While “add device” and “remove device” are rather specific requests for an immediate task, “joining mode” on the other hand is more a configuration of the default or “background” behaviour of the native communications technology implementation (“stack”) with regards to the announcement or acceptance of other devices. Altogether, this kind of default or “background” behaviour can result in “node description list” updates or “candidate” notifications.
